As the masses exited New York City for Westchester County, they traded the hustle and bustle for a backyard and more space to work from home. Even now Westchester residents aren't frequenting New York City as they once did. Au Ciel Flowers & More saw this as an opportunity. In November of 2019 they expanded the once flower design and events studio to include a New York City-esque boutique.
Walking in I was instantly reminded of my favorite French Cafe and Boutique in Soho, La Mercerie. Yet I was right in my backyard in Irvington, New York.

Longtime Irvington floral designer and owner of Au Ciel Flowers & More, Minoo Hersini, tells me she used to use part of the large space that inhabits her floral design studio for events and had stopped a few years ago. Tired of half the space sitting empty, she's partnered with her niece Nilou Safinya to give the space a new life.
Both women have a true passion for giving and it shines through as we talk about the struggle to find unique and hand-crafted gifts here in Westchester County. So Nilou was brought on to help curate the space that boasts everything from organic baby clothing to stationery. Making this boutique truly a one-stop-shop.
Hand selecting each item and vendor themselves, they're able to share the people and their stories behind each item they carry.
With high ceilings and beautiful displays, you feel like you're back at your favorite New York City boutique. In a vintage bathtub, you'll find throw pillows from India, candles from Japan are scattered throughout and you'll even see a local favorite, Connor McGinn who makes ceramic dinnerwear out of Makers Central in Tarrytown.
From decorative items to artisan-made jewelry, baby clothes, wooden toys, exotic plants, and stunning floral arrangements, you'll surely find the gift you've been searching for. Especially for that loved one who is impossible to buy for. Take it from me I tend to be one of them and I purchased two gifts for myself!
