It’s one thing to go on a bike ride with your kids. It’s quite another to watch them expertly maneuver over bumps and corners at the Youth Activity Park in Dardenne Prairie, home to the largest asphalt pump track in the country.

Opened in June 2020, riders are powered by their own momentum, meaning they can careen around the 30,000-square-foot track without pedaling or pushing. Designed for bicycles, scooters and skateboards, it’s the perfect place to give your not-so-little-anymore one a taste for extreme sports in a safe environment, helping them learn new tricks, test their skills and gain confidence in their abilities.

The track contains beginner, intermediate and advanced sections, with circuits of paved rollers, banked turns and other fun features that will have you cringing on the sidelines. It was designed by Velosolutions, a sponsor of the Red Bull UCI Pump Track World Championships, and meets requirements for local and national bike competitions. St. Charles County plans to instal nighttime lighting, and hopes to eventually host a pre-qualifying championship race on the track — creating another activity for you and your family to attend as spectators!

A Park for The Whole Family

If the pump track isn’t your jam, there’s also 33,000-square-foot concrete outdoor skate park—the largest in Missouri—with beginner, intermediate and advanced bowls, a street course and a snake run scattered with ramps, gaps, hubbas and more.

The Youth Activity Park also contains a ton of activities for the whole family. There’s a rock climbing wall, sand volleyball, and a half-court basketball area, and walking and running trails. Inside, there’s a 30-foot rock climbing wall, table tennis, foosball, air hockey and a video gaming area with two flat-screen televisions.

If all this exercise is making you hungry, you can swing by the YAP Café!

You can literally spend hours here without getting bored. Free to enter and open year round, if you’re looking for something fun to do with your kids, head to the Youth Activity Park to burn some energy.
