Tri Pointe Homes®, a recognized leader serving the Phoenix market for more than 30 years under the name Maracay®, has received the 2022 Indoor airPLUS Leader Award for the fourth year in a row. The homebuilder contributed 704 homes that were Indoor airPLUS certified throughout the greater Phoenix area in the past year with a commitment to build 100% of its homes utilizing the program in 2022. The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA's) national award recognizes homebuilders’ outstanding efforts to promote safer, healthier, and more comfortable indoor environments and through the Indoor airPLUS program offer enhanced indoor air quality protections for new homebuyers.
“To win the Indoor airPLUS Leader Award for a fourth consecutive year is not only a great honor, but it’s a wonderful confirmation of our work in building health into each of our homes,” said Tri Pointe Homes Arizona Division President James Attwood. “Our years-long partnership with the EPA through its Indoor airPLUS program is a badge of honor, and with our innovative LivingSmart® platform we’ll continue to push for even better indoor air quality and energy efficiency while increasing the comfort and peace of mind of homeowners.”
In addition to better air quality, Indoor airPLUS home advantages include improved comfort and energy efficiency as well as minimized pollutants and a detailed home maintenance manual. Indoor airPLUS design and construction features cover building materials, HVAC performance, moisture control, radon control, pest management and combustion venting.
All of Tri Pointe Homes’ divisions nationwide proudly participate in LivingSmart®, the company’s comprehensive program that promotes both cost savings and a better living environment for customers through the development, design, construction, and ongoing operation of high-performing homes. New materials, technologies and features are constantly being incorporated into the LivingSmart® program, which includes five specific areas of advancement: HealthSmart®, EnergySmart®, EarthSmart®, WaterSmart® and HomeSmart®. Earlier this month Tri Pointe Homes added eight new, standard features across the program based on research and trending consumer demands. Areas noted as most important to homebuyers – and where investments are being made – are those related to energy efficiency and indoor air quality.
“Our more than 20-year green building commitment and the recognition that has come from that all derive from our No. 1 brand pillar of being in the life-changing business as a homebuilder,” Attwood added. “We are customer-driven and committed to environmentally responsible business practices and enduring craftmanship. Those things support the health of both individual and community.”
As a 2022 Indoor airPLUS Leader Award winner, Tri Pointe Homes is eligible for the Indoor airPLUS Leader of the Year Award given to just one builder and one rater. This top honor, along with the IndoorairPLUS Leader Awards, will be announced during the September 21st award ceremony at the 2022 EEBA High Performance Home Summit.
