I know so many of us are taking care of others during this time of Self-Quarantine, so how do we take care of ourselves so we make it through this mentally in one piece?
This is something I have been thinking about for myself. If I am going to keep all the balls up in the air through the next several weeks of much more time at home, what do I personally need so I can be the best mother, wife and friend who keeps her patience? :)
Here is a list of suggestions and what I personally love to do to show myself some self-care.
1. Spa time - Take a bath and listen to a podcast or book on tape, put a face mask on, and give yourself a mani/pedi.
2. Read a book.
3. Call, text or Skype a friend.
4. Play music and just dance.
5. Take some quiet time to read scripture or meditate.
6. Do a home workout or just a few minutes of stretching.
I know you may be thinking, "Lacey, how am I going to find time to do any of these things with everyone home ALL DAY?" I find time either early in the morning or after my kids go to bed. I like to have some quite me-time before my kids wake up. It helps me start the day in a better place, and I am finding that after they go to bed I need to find a way to unwind, so I take 30 mins for myself to take a warm shower and listen to a podcast or read. Some of these I actually do with my family like working out or dancing! Do what works for you; just find something you can do each day to recharge.
XOXO,
Lacey
