Living Oak Home Decor Interior designer Laura Williams, who helms Living Oak Interior Design, opened the curated boutique at 1703 W Koenig Ln (what the team has lovingly dubbed "Austin's Design Row") after she saw a hole in the market for sophisticated yet approachable home décor. The cozy store offers items averaging around $30 and champions local, female-founded businesses, with offerings like handmade ceramics from local artist Ali Bond, prints from photographer Madline Harper and art from Aileen Fitzgerald.

Mahjong If you think you’ve been hearing a lot more about Mahjong lately – you have! Although its origins date back to 19th century China, its popularity has been growing at a fever pitch. It’s a fantastic way to hang out with friends that doesn’t have to involve going to a bar. But, it can. Pershing House hosts Mahjong every Tuesday and there have been pop-up events at places like Prelude, Lake Austin Spa and Bar Peach. You can book lessons or find intro events via Maj Social Club.
Ethan King The co-owner of the Ron King Salon is a master stylist specializing in curly and textured hair, although he can be trusted with any hair type. He left the salon to style this month’s cover shoot, but you can usually find him in the salon’s cute home in East Austin - when he’s not out literally teaching others how it’s done.
