Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art is currently closed to the public, but that doesn't mean their educational programs are cancelled. Check out these summer virtual events that are free and open to all ages.


1. Scavenger Saturday: Google Arts & Culture Edition

Hone your art detective skills and discover something new about contemporary art at Kemper Museum! Receive all the clues for a self-guided scavenger hunt to take an “ART-astic” adventure on Google Arts and Culture.

2. Mystery Art Challenge

Take part in a special art challenge inspired by Elias Sime’s use of e-waste! Register by July 5 to receive a free mystery box by mail filled with unknown art materials (we'll follow up by email to confirm your address). Then, either by yourself or with friends and family you live with, use only the materials in the mystery box to create a piece of art! 

Tune in on Friday, July 10, at 1:00 p.m. on Instagram Live to see what ideas we and others in the community come up with—and then help us create an Instagram art gallery at #kemperartchallenge featuring all your creations!

TOTs on Tuesday is going virtual! Sing songs, read books, explore art, and make your own art with a Kemper Museum educator and a Kansas City librarian. Register by July 14 to receive by mail all the art materials necessary for this FREE event, along with the Zoom link to participate!
