Palm Island Resort, on the west coast of Florida, is a great place to say "I Do" if you're dreaming of a private beach wedding. With two miles of beach and modern villas for your family and friends to relax and celebrate the entire weekend, it's the perfect destination for many couples. When families come together for a wedding on the island, it becomes more than a one day event.
Whether you're planning an intimate wedding with just a few people or a large celebration, they have different package options to fit your needs.
I first learned of Palm Island Resort a couple of years ago when I was hired to photograph a wedding there. Although I was familiar with Englewood and had recently moved here, I didn't know much about Palm Island which is only 15 minutes away. What I learned is this small island is accessible only by ferry, has a few hundred residents and no grocery stores. It also has plenty of privacy, old Florida beauty and a resort that caters to people who want to get away and enjoy a quiet piece of paradise.
Palm Island Resort offers great family activities like Scavenger Hunts, fishing excursions, nature walks, yoga sessions and S'mores gatherings to entertain everyone before the big day. There are several pools and of course, miles of private beach with sunset views.
Wedding parties can get ready in different villas on the property and are never more than a quick golf cart ride away from ceremony and reception site.
Most weddings take place from October to January when the Florida weather is pleasant and the threat of storms is low. Many couples choose to have their ceremony at the beach but the covered courtyard is a great option in unpredictable weather or if you'd prefer to stay out of the sun.
Choose from three locations to have your reception. There's a pool side pavilion, the resort clubhouse or the courtyard with views of the intercoastal waterway. All are great options for celebrating with friends and family and dancing the evening away.
The resort has a list of preferred vendors to give you choices for local florists, bakers, wedding planners, DJ's, videographers and photographers. Everyone works hard to help you create your dream day.
