How did your business get started?
Karin Ross Designs is a family business. I am the designer, and Nick (my husband) is the general contractor. The love of working together, being together and creating beautiful spaces [led to] Karin Ross Designs. Everything we create together embraces our passion for stunning new kitchens or master bathrooms that will serve our customers for years to come.
What is your philosophy?
We approach every project like it is our own place, and that helps us put into perspective what to avoid or emphasize. We believe in planning; therefore, our planning process is extensive but necessary. A good plan is a recipe for an easy-going and successful kitchen or bathroom transformation. Constant communication with the client and being there for the client's needs is something we strive to achieve.
What are you proud of?
Karin Ross Designs bagged several awards in 2019, and we are proud of them all. A few to mention are the Guild master gold award for excellent customer service, the Heartland Silver award for kitchen design given by ASID and the Heartland silver award for bathroom design from ASID, to name a few.
What sets you apart from others in your industry?
Karin Ross Designs is known for its clean lines, European elegance and functional features. Every project is approached as a custom project, and clients are offered options and selections that will create a truly unique look for the specific client. As Karin Ross Designs is a design and build duo, the client has the attention of both the designer and the general contractor every time when they need them during the entire project, so the client feels they are in good hands.
We are unlike many other local design/build firms in that we have a different approach to how to create and design an authentic and custom kitchen or bathroom for each client we have. Not only are our designs authentic, but we are as well. We will guide the client through the pros and the cons of each aspect and/or product for the project. Our final creations are beautiful and spot-on for what the client desired from the first meeting we had.
What are you focused on right now?
We are constantly focused on our clients and projects, but we can’t wait for the new 2020 KBIS [Kitchen + Bath Industry Show] to see new products on the market that could be incorporated into our new kitchens or bathrooms.
Obviously I am European, and we bring a truly authentic European design and flair to the Kansas City metro clientele. I continue to refresh my design knowledge with different classes I take every year, in which I keep up with the latest products and trends in Europe and the USA.
