I am seriously convinced we will be a regular here - and that we will be treated as if I am visiting good friends every time. Family and I are three visits in, and we are in awe as to flavor, variety, and value. Mia's Italian Kitchen in South Orlando (International Drive) has made it to our rotation of dining out on a regular, as well as our preferred list to refer our beloved family and friends.
First and foremost, EVERY staff member who engaged with us, was upbeat, spirited, passionate about the brand, and extremely knowledgeable. Which is why, it was a no brainer to indulge in each and every recommendation, including "Endless Dining", an incredible value at $35. Yes, you read correctly - pay one price (per person), and mangia as much as you like; family style; from the made to order menu. They will serve enough, and accordingly to your party, yet you are generously reminded that you can always ask for more (as long as you enjoy while in the dining room). The variety of selections is grand; including favorites like Chicken Parmigiana, Piccata, Baked Rigatoni, Endless Pizza and desserts. To follow, a brief impression of some plates we enjoyed recently:
Specialties
Pane al Formaggio- holy Cristo! That cheesy bread has ruined all we know about any dinner bread out there. Gooey in all the right ways. Lots of cheese, and perfect garlic and herbs. Delicious!!!
Gnocchi al Quattro Formaggi- 4 cheese and potato - soft and creamy and quite filling.
Grilled Stuffed Calamari - okay - this was a surprise. I can't possibly prepare you. Just think of an entire tube of uncut calamari stuffed with sausage. TIP - This is really spicy!
Charcurterie Board - was the bomb.com!!! Just do it! (Cheese and meats board)
Veal Piccata- yes! This was a total win! On the menu, you will see as veal Marsala. TIP- you may ask as piccata! A winner!!!
Fettuccine al Funghi - tender and al dente perfection. The flavors were balanced, yet decadent. TIP- hubby added grilled chicken ($5 extra).
Desserts
We had both Tiramisus. Traditional & Limoncello - can't really decide which one is best. The traditional one exhibits every flavor richly, blending well with a smooth whipped cream.
The Limoncello Tiramisu has blueberries, so lots of sweet, tart and drenched ladyfingers. I highly recommend both.
They also have Cannolis with sweet amaretto-candied orange peel-ricotta filling, and Olive Oil Cake with slow roasted strawberries, mascarpone frosting and macerated seasonal fruit. Is your mouth watering yet?
Last thing I will note - great for family and friends shared dining, and there's a private enough room that comfortably sits larger events, accommodating up to 50-60 guests. Perfect for birthdays, corporate dining, meetings, and other private get-togethers.
I highly recommend a reservation, as Mia's has become quite popular! Here is the link - RESERVE MIA's.
