6 Great Spots to Celebrate Halloween

Halloween is on the horror-izon with spooktacular family events

Boo! It's that time of year again. Halloween is on the horror-izon. There are plenty of spooktacular family events throughout the Northwest Valley, each guaranteed to be a ghoulishly good time for all. All events listed are subject to change or cancellation, so be sure to confirm dates and times on each website. Then dress up the entire family and head out for some trick-or-treating family fun.

1- Ghosts & Goodies

On Saturday, October 16 from 3-6 pm, Halloween revelers will delight in festivities at Westgate Entertainment District. The costume contests start at 4 pm. Categories include tots (ages 0-3), youth (ages 4-6), kids (ages 5-7) and adults (14+), plus group/family and pets. Other activities include a make-and-take slime craft, music, games and prizes. Be sure to check out the Jurassic Petting Zoo, a free green-screen photo opp allowing guests to take a picture with a dinosaur. 2 - Arizona Field of Screams
All month long, guests can stop by Tolmachoff Farms at 5726 N. 75th Avenue in Glendale for a haunted good time. Those brave enough can dare to enter the haunted corn maze. Don't worry—there is a family-friendly corn maze and one just for the little ones. 3 - Costume Walk and Carnival 
Desert Foothills Recreation Aquatic Center at 5600 W. Union Hills Dr in Glendale is hosting a free, fun-filled Halloween event on Saturday, October 29, from 6-9 p.m. Activities include spooky music, a costume walk, carnival games, candy and crafts. Preregistration is required by calling 623.930.4600. 

4 - All Basha's Locations
On October 30, goblins of all ages are invited to visit their local Basha's location for a ghoulishly good time. The fun runs from 10 am to 2 pm and includes trick-or-treating at each store department, free individually wrapped cookie and apple cider for kids, and store employees dressed in costume. Halloween cakes will be available for $5, taffy apples for $3 and cookies to decorate for $1. Visit Bashas.com to find a location near you. 

5 - Boo Bash at Park West
Park West will host its second annual Boo Bash event on Saturday, October 30 from 6-8 pm. Kelly Price, Park West business development manager, explains that, "Our second annual Boo Bash is a family friendly event so people of all ages can come out and enjoy a fun evening in a safe and social environment. With a variety of spirited Halloween entertainment, there is something for everyone to experience." 6 - Lake Pleasant Haunted Harbor
The Haunted Harbor Trunk-or-Treat at Lake Pleasant will be held on Saturday, October 30. The fun begins at 5 pm. Children can safely trick-or-treat at vehicles decked out in Halloween décor.
