Who Runs the World?

OR AT LEAST GILBERT; LETTER FROM THE PUBLISHER MAY 2020

Ladies of Gilbert, where would we be without you?

It is during May that we, as a country, celebrate mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers. It takes a village to raise a child, and our village has women who are our children’s teachers, doctors, first responders, law enforcement officers, authors, entertainers, nurses, social workers, counselors and so much more. Thank goodness, we have such incredible women in our town because we really need them right now.

Who would have thought that our April would consist of words like social distancing and virtual classrooms. This is certainly not the April that we were expecting but as we welcome May, we seem more bonded as a town and more connected than ever. Thank you so much to our personal Super Woman, Mayor Jenn Daniels, who not only helped us all remain calm but fought hard for the right decisions to keep our town safe.

You are our children’s inspiration, and you are ours. This month, we thank you for everything you pour into Gilbert. We still have lots to do, so please take time to become involved with one of our featured local women’s groups, or choose to shop local for those May gifts.

We Got This Gilbert,

Thank you for sharing your homes with us
