Looking for ways to run off some of that turkey and dressing you plan to indulge in on Thanksgiving? Turkey Day 5K, a Thanksgiving Day run held every year since 2012, offers just the opportunity, along with the chance to help out a worthy local nonprofit. This year’s race will begin on Main Street in front of Norman High School.

“Our mission is ‘Empowering Community Involvement Through Exercise!” said Chris Crow, who serves on the run’s planning committee. “We have been striving to motivate the Cleveland County community and beyond to come together to rebuild, restore and renew by running for a mission every Thanksgiving morning. This year, is our 10-year, and we are honored to partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Norman to support their wonderful organization!

The Turkey Day 5K is hosted by a group of volunteers who formed following the May 20 tornado in Moore.
