Cumby Group has officially broken ground on a boutique community in Clarksville, just west of downtown Austin. We’re building 16 luxury homes, thoughtfully designed to blend seamlessly with one of the most historic areas in Austin while still providing modern comforts, conveniences, and style.

The two-, three- and four-bedroom single family and townhouse style homes in the new Westline community will range in size from approximately 2,000 to 3,500 square feet and sell for between $1.9 and $3.33 million. Buyers have already placed four homes under contract since pre-sales began.

Located at 1406 W. 9th Street adjacent to the 3-acre West Austin Neighborhood Park, the development derives its name from the former streetcar line commonly known as the “West Line,” which once connected the neighborhood to downtown.

“Clarksville’s natural beauty and historic charm just steps away from downtown makes it one of the most sought-after areas in Austin,” said Melissa Brown, Development Vice President for Cumby Group. “We’ve carefully designed Westline to complement the neighborhood’s unique character, while still offering spacious, modern homes. This site could accommodate twice as many residences, but we wanted to preserve the look and feel that people love about this area of Old West Austin, even as we add much needed housing.”

Westline will feature three fully detached homes along West 9th Street and Maufrais Street with 13 additional residences in clustered townhouse style buildings toward the interior of the property.

While thoroughly modern inside, the exteriors of the detached homes will appear nearly identical to the three previous structures they replace — two older homes and the former Saint Philip’s Anglican Church. Cumby Group incorporated the design and scale of these previous buildings in the community’s most prominent locations to enhance compatibility with surrounding single-family homes and to preserve the traditional look and feel of the two streets.

Buyers can choose from seven unique floor plans and four carefully curated collections of high-end interior fixtures and finishes to make it their own.

The residences feature gas fireplaces in living areas, European wood oak floors throughout, full GE Café appliance packages, under counter beverage refrigerators, and private two-car garages.

On-site community amenities include a tranquil yoga garden, grove green space with table seating, and a fire pit lounge space. The location within the neighborhood affords walkability to all the best local markets, restaurants, coffee shops, parks, and more.

Residents are expected to move into Westline in late spring 2022.
