FUN FOOTBALL FOOD IDEAS FOR SUPER BOWL SUNDAY

Are you ready for Super Bowl Sunday? I'm a bit in shock that our Chiefs are in the running, but I am SO happy about it!

I've lived in Kansas City for 13 years, and it's become home for me. We held season tickets to the Chiefs for a few years, and they were ROUGH years. So, having a team that's Super Bowl worthy is seriously a dream, especially considering it's been 50 years since the Chiefs were in the running! I love seeing everyone in their red gear, and hearing folks say "GO CHIEFS" everywhere I go!

We'll be watching the big game from a friend's house, but I still haven't decided what food I'm bringing! I like to bring appetizers that are crowd pleasing; food that everyone will love!

I tend to bring things with BACON in them like these Bacon Wrapped Dates! They are very similar to the bacon wrapped dates at Avenues restaurant in Brookside, and are absolutely scrumptious. Another great appetizer option is these Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts. They have an awesome barbecue glaze on them and go FAST. Finally, this Candied Bacon Baked Brie is also ALWAYS a showstopper! One of the most recent comments said it was "gone in 10 minutes," and I believe it!

In addition to "something with bacon," I will probably fry up some hot wings! I have a "secret" trick  for getting your hot wings SUPER crispy! I usually just toss them with this buffalo wing sauce, and call it good.

If you aren't in the mood to fry wings, you can always pick up a rotisserie chicken and make Buffalo Chicken Tortilla Pinwheels! These are a super fun variation on your traditional tortilla roll-up. Or, stop by The Local Pig in the City Market and grab some pig wings to make these awesome Buffalo Pig Wings.

If you're still searching for the perfect appetizer, check out my list of personal favorite game day snacks here. I hope that your game day food is STRONG this Sunday, and GO CHIEFS!
