Karl Lagerfeld once said, "Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life so you bought some sweatpants." Well Karl, FINALLY, this feels true. While social distancing hasn't been easy, sweat sets and wine at 4 p.m. have both been positive take-aways for me personally.
Plus, there's nothing I love more than a look I can take directly from bed to brunch, or in this case my backyard.
Pro tips for shopping for sweat sets:
- Buy the set. You can always mix and match matching separates. And there's something so polished about a matching look. Yes even if it's tie-dye.
- Tie-dye. One and done. Invest in the best tie-dye set and then be done with it. Why? Remeber when you bought all that gingham. Need I say more?
- Level up. Worried you'll have bought too many comfy clothes and will have nothing to wear when you can finally go somewhere again? A blazer will litterally LEVEL UP a sweatshirt and sweatpants. 0-100 real quick, *drake voice*.
Brand Spotlight:
Instead of only sharing my favorites across the board, I wanted to give a little spotlight to some really cool brands.
Cotton Citizen: They produce and design all their products plus they manufacture everything at a privately owned factory in Los Angeles. Now more than ever I find supporting small businesses so rewarding.
Z Supply: Where comfort meets style, Z Supply has always been a staple in my closet. From their t-shirt dresses to t-shirts, they've got casual down to a science.
Sundry: This coastal casual meets Parisian chic brand is another go-to of mine. A lot of their products are also made in Los Angeles as well. They also make the best-printed sweat sets!
I know that the floral sweat set is in my shopping bag along with the sweat shorts matching separates! Looking cute and staying comfortable this summer is my goal. Are you hitting checkout on any of these items? Let me know!
