Nobody knows family fun more than the Koch family, and they've had four generations to perfect it. As the owners of Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana, they have come through a difficult year and are back at full blast.
"This season we’re celebrating 75 Years of Family Fun, and honestly, it’s more special than ever because of the tremendous challenges of last year," says Leah Koch. "The most difficult and frustrating parts of our safety procedures are now no longer necessary, and we’re excited to deliver the best possible Holiday World experience once again."
Holiday World opened in 1946 as Santa Claus Land. It's just 3 hours east of St. Louis. From its top-ranking wooden and steel roller coasters to the world’s longest water coasters, the attraction has been recognized as the “cleanest park in the world” for the last two decades.
Splashin' Safari introduced its newest water coaster, "Cheetah Chase," in 2020, as the world’s first dueling launched water coaster. And TIME magazine named Holiday World’s "The Voyage" the nation’s No. 1 wooden roller coaster.
One other popular and unique feature is that both parks provide free soft drinks all day, free parking, free inner-tube usage, and free sunscreen.
"I’m proud to say that my siblings and I are in the fourth-generation of a family-owned business that has stood the test of time, and we will continue to devote ourselves to bringing the joy of holiday celebrations to our guests for years to come,” adds Leah.
