TIPS FOR THE SEASON

In addition to everyday design and decorating, we provide holiday decorating services as well. Here are some of my favorite tips for the season:

LIGHT IT UP – If you really want your tree to sparkle, you need the correct number of lights. For every foot of tree, you should have approximately 100 bulbs. (Example: 10-foot tree, 1000 lights) Be sure to check this when purchasing a pre-lit tree, especially if you find a great price. You may need to spend more money on extra lights for your tree to be merry and bright.

THE PERFECT SWAG – Do you ever wonder how much garland you really need to deck your halls?  When decorating mantels and banisters you should add one foot of garland for every three feet of space. (Example: 6-foot mantel, 8 feet of garland) While most garlands are sold in 6-foot increments, shopping around for the correct length will up your swag game.

YOU NAME IT – Drug store sticker gift tags may be affordable and convenient, but this year you can elevate your gift wrapping for free. Upcycle that box of holiday cards from years past and trim them into unique tags for this year’s presents. You will be sure to bring joy to the world as well as all those on your list.
