A Legacy Across Time

At the helm of Copper Canary, Allie preserves a heritage steeped in the jewelry business. As a fifth-generation jeweler herself, and accompanied by her parents, the fourth generation, and her son, the budding 6th generation, the Meridian location of Copper Canary has been in the works for almost 3 years before opening to the public.

“It’s been a long journey to open this showroom, but we’re proud to call the Treasure Valley home and bring Copper Canary to the community,” says Allie.

The family jewelers’ story originates in Chicago with Allie’s great, great grandfather Isaac in 1885. Since then, the family has been dedicated to offering fine jewelry and services to the communities in which they live; and while opening Copper Canary in Meridian took years of work, the store is not new to the jewelry market and has been operated by Allie for nearly a decade and by her parents since the 1970s. In recent years, Copper Canary has had notable exposure in several major media outlets including Vogue Magazine. The impressive Meridian, Idaho showroom is currently the only location for this family jeweler and has already made an indelible mark on Eagle Road.

“We’re excited for what [Copper Canary] has done and for [their] investment in the community, and the decision to be a part of what Meridian is all about – that’s family,” said Meridian Mayor Simison during the grand opening ribbon cutting event. “You’ve made a beautiful investment and have a beautiful store… I just want to say welcome on behalf of the city.”

The Art Deco-Inspired Haven

Copper Canary captivates the harmonious blend of art deco and modern aesthetics. Every aspect of the store's design, meticulously curated by Allie and her close friend and London-based designer, Gabi, emanates an air of sophistication. The store itself has a centerpiece bridal bar dedicated to engagement pieces and is flanked by areas of collections from different design eras. The store also features a custom locket bar showcasing a kaleidoscope of colorful gemstones to create truly unique pieces. Complementing the showroom is a free latte bar open to all visitors, comfortable couch seating, and a variety of treats throughout the store, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere.

“As we had the opportunity to create the space from the bare bones of the building, I knew we wanted to design the showroom in a thoughtful way that would complement the jewelry inside,” Allie says. “Gabi and I took great care to make sure that all elements within the building are elegant, eye-catching, and welcoming. There are a lot of decades that influenced the layout and design and I think you can really feel that as you walk around the showroom.”

In every detail, Copper Canary Fine Jewelry Boutique establishes itself at the confluence of antique and modern design.

Antique Treasures, Bespoke Creations, and Ethical Craftsmanship

Copper Canary stands apart in the Treasure Valley as a sanctuary for antique engagement rings and wedding bands, evoking a sense of nostalgia and timeless allure for those that want something different than the norm. Free from the influence of mainstream jewelry brands, the boutique exclusively features antique pieces and in-house designs.

Aside from selling their jewelry collections, the family also draws upon their expertise and offers a range of services to meet the desires of their discerning clientele. Whether it's reimagining heirlooms to upgrade a jewelry wardrobe, repairing sentimental pieces, or crafting bespoke jewelry tailored to individual visions, Copper Canary fulfills every jewelry lover's aspirations.

As all pieces are unique and brand-name-free, Copper Canary is freely allowed to embody a deep-rooted commitment to ethical practices. “Restoring, repairing, and reimagining antique jewelry is an elegant form of up-cycling,” Allie states. “There’s no better way to honor a diamond than to pass it down for generations as a wearable and desired piece.” With an in-house veteran goldsmith, each item undergoes meticulous attention, imbuing it with a touch of timeless elegance.

Beyond jewelry, the boutique partners with artisans that ethically source their materials and has curated a selection of accessories including handbags, wallets, and hats. By choosing Copper Canary, customers not only adorn themselves with exquisite pieces but also contribute to the preservation of traditional craftsmanship and the welfare of global artisans.
