There’s a Chick Chick here and a Chick Chick There Chicken Salad Chick offers 12 types of chicken salads, moves to Atlanta and keeps growing!

Move over, Big Chicken! There’s a new Chick in town — Chicken Salad Chick. Chicken Salad Chick is the country’s only Southern-inspired, fast-casual salad restaurant. What makes this restaurant chain so unique — and fun — is that it starts with the basic chicken salad ingredients — chicken and mayonnaise — and it goes from there. They came up with more than a dozen tasty ways to create the perfect chicken salad for anyone’s tastes.

For instance, there is the classic with celery, mayonnaise and seasoning, but it goes wild from there. One can order chicken salads that are spicy (Jalapeño Holly, Kickin’ Kay Lynne or Buffalo Barclay). For those who want it “fruity and nutty,” you can order Fruity Fran with Fuji apples, seedless grapes and pineapple; Cranberry Kelli with dried sweetened cranberries and slivered almonds; or Fancy Nancy with Fuji apples, seedless grapes and pecans. There are chicken salads for those who lean on the savory side with Lauryn’s Lemon Basil, Dixie Chick (the only salad with onions), Sassy Scotty and Barbie-Q. For traditionalists, there is the classic with all-white-meat shredded chicken, celery, mayonnaise and a secret dressing and Olivia’s Old South that adds some pickles and an egg.

Not only is the food delicious, but its story is touching and positive. It was founded in 2008 in Auburn, AL, by Stacy and Kevin Brown, who was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer shortly after opening the first location. Kevin passed away in 2015, and Stacy and her five children kept going, not only opening up new restaurants but focusing on contributing to society, especially through the CSC Foundation, which focuses on ending hunger as well as supporting the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.

The other big news is the the company moved its headquarters to Atlanta — or actually Vinings — and is growing rapidly. So far, the company opened 37 new stores in 2020 (44 were opened in 2019) and, even with COVID-19, 40 more are planned for this year. Look for Chicken Salad Chicks to expand to four more states in the next two years, and overall, more than 500 locations by the end of 2025.

Here in the metro Atlanta area, there are Chicken Salad Chick locations in Alpharetta, Buckhead, Carrollton, Cumming, Kennesaw, Marietta, Johns Creek, Loganville, Snellville, McDonough, Newnan, Peachtree City, Roswell, Stockbridge and Vinings. The newest one is in Buford near the Mall of Georgia.
