Ninety-four gyms are accessible by residents and visitors in the High Desert City of Boise Idaho, which has a population of just under 229,000.

Majority of the gyms in Boise are training gyms and important to note is the fact that a large number of them have higher than a four-star rating. There are three gyms in the vicinity of the Capitol as well, which is an excellent convenience for execs with crazy schedules.

24 hour Gyms

Approximately 10 percent of the gyms in Boise are open around the clock. They are strategically positioned at every angle of the city, making one accessible no matter where in the city you are heading from.

Every gym with the name fitness attached to it has a 24/7 branch open. A plus for night trainers is that just about every type of gym is represented so they won't have trouble finding one with a program they prefer. One of the gyms, A Planet Fitness, is actually in the Boise Towne Square area.

Climbing Gyms

Living more than 2700 square feet above sea level, it is a bit strange that there are only two climbing gyms in Boise, and two on the outskirts. Great thing though for the climbing enthusiasts is that the gyms have high ratings because of their professional teams and state-of-the-art equipment.

Asana Climbing Gym is a very distinguished fitness training facility. They have made a huge switch from producing climbing equipment for scores of gyms, to operating their own. This transformation has made them trustworthy as they know every aspect of the business and members know Asana Climbing makes sturdy equipment so they are drawn to that gym.

Boxing Gyms

What is it with boxing over this side of the country?

Whatever the reason, people love it and the gym operators are heading to the desire of their members. Forty-six boxing gyms are strewn across the high desert. They are mainly to the north and northeast of the city. There is, however, one in SoutheastBoise.

CrossFit Gyms

There are 16 gyms in Boise that offer CrossFit training and some incorporate HIIT as well. Only three of the gyms have CrossFit work out as their central focus.

Many of the gyms lay to the south and southeast. Boise CrossFit on Chinden Blvd, has an intense CrossFit workout program. CrossFit Composure located inside JOANN Fabrics and Crafts on S Federal Way has a really good CrossFit exercise routine too.

MMA Gyms

Mixed martial arts fitness centers might not be plentiful, but they sure offer competent training. There are only eight MMA gyms in Boise but they've been getting rave reviews. The gyms are more to the north and west of downtown Boise.

There are none in the South and Southeast Boise regions. If you're in the vicinity of Kathryn Albertson Park or Boise State University, you are walking distance from an MMA gym.

If you've never tried MMA before and are considering it, well be prepared for some hits because it is a combination of various combat sports with striking and fighting on the ground. Eagle Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy on W State St has a great class.

American Ninja Warrior Gyms

American Ninja Warriors has games so much popularity worldwide that gyms offering training have been popping up across the United States. Not all of them are at the highest level but the two gyms in Boise are a force to be reckoned with.

So are the two just outside the periphery in Garden City and Meridian. Camp Rhino Boise | Rhino CrossFit at Hillcrest Shopping Center on W. Overland Rd has close to five stars in rating. They offer boot camp, CrossFit and of course ninja warrior style exercises.

Bodies in motion on W Diamond Street mostly focuses on children and the parents love the program, hence the high rating. Asana is the real deal as well with a beautiful and very challenging ninja obstacle course that the members love. You can prepare for local and national ninja events there. While Danik Gymnastics mostly targets what its name suggests, they have a great ninja program for youngsters.

Bodybuilding Gyms

Bodybuilding is clearly a big deal in Boise with more than half the fitness centers there offering bodybuilding programs.

All the gyms have professional weightlifting trainers to help the members reach their full potential. You can find a bodybuilding gym in Boise, regardless of what section of the city you are in. Axiom Gym has some fancy equipment and rigorous training to get their customers on the right track.

Boise fitness club has group exercise lessons, personal work out plus nutrition and spa services but they do have a great bodybuilding program.

Gyms with Pools

On a hot day, there's no better way to cool off than swimming. The gyms in Boise have you covered with nearly all the gyms having a pool installed. Some like Grove Fitness actually have a lap pool. Ninety gyms in total everywhere in the city and its outskirts, boast a pool. From Southeast Boise to the west of the City.

There is one just walking distance from Boise Town Square. That's ideal for people working in the busy city who would rather not travel far to get to a pool.
