“Some old-fashioned things like fresh air and sunshine are hard to beat.” —Laura Ingalls Wilder
Summer is officially here and there's no better place to be than outside! We have been exploring Nashville and enjoying playing in creeks, finding waterfalls and catching fireflies!
We recently found a new place and decided to check it out! Menkveld Farm in Nolensville is hosting several public events throughout the summer including walking the lavender fields, picnicking, taking photos and picking your own bouquet. The Menkveld family owns the farm and takes pride in having guests visit the lavender fields as well as stop by their farm stand during the week. The Menkvelds planted 300 lavender plants in 2017 and are continuing to add plants and animals to their farm. In addition to the lavender and flower fields, the Menkveld Farm also has a patch of blueberry and raspberry bushes, an orchard with a variety of fruit and nut trees, and vegetable garden which is home to a small flock of Ancona ducks
You can find out about the upcoming events like lavender fields photo sessions, UPick lavender bouquets and their farm stand here.
If you can’t make it by the farm in person, you can check out a virtual tour of the farm.
