6th Annual Vino con Stelle delivers perfect pairing with wine tasting, cancer research funding
Now in its sixth year, Vino con Stelle is a signature fundraising gala for Gateway for Cancer Research. Differentiated as an intimate black-tie affair, this lavish outdoor event ignites the senses to ensure a truly unforgettable evening that makes a meaningful difference in the quest to end cancer as we know it.
Held in the breathtaking Paradise Garden of the storied Arizona Biltmore, this year’s Vino con Stelle will feature perfectly paired food and wine selections, a performance set that spans genres and an impactful philanthropic promise. Distinguished as the only nonprofit to exclusively fund Phase I and Phase II clinical trials for all types of cancer at hospitals around the world, Gateway delivers hope and healing to men, women and children everywhere.
Hosted and graciously underwritten by Dr. Stacie J. Stephenson and Richard J Stephenson, Gateway’s vice chair and chairman, respectively, this year’s Vino con Stelle takes guests on a tour of the world by way of wine. Upon arrival, they’ll embark on a wine tasting journey while meeting and mingling with mix of philanthropists, professional athletes, actors, entertainers and more. Among those who have frequented past events are Valley favorites like Larry Fitzgerald and Tara Hitchcock, television stars like Brooke Burke and Matt Iseman, and cancer research phenoms like Siddhartha Mukherjee, MD, author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning book “The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer.”
Following the cocktail reception, guests will embark on a three-course dinner guided by celebrity Sommelier Anthony Giglio. Tying the evening together is this year’s emcee Caroline Rhea, a beloved comedian and actress whose perfectly timed humor and personal cancer testimony underscores the importance of cancer research.
