Baby, it's cold outside, and the couch with a cozy blanket is calling your name. But why not embrace the elements and enjoy winter's magic—on an outdoor ice rink! Skating is a great form of cardio and makes for some adorable family photos. Kansas City has several picturesque rinks to practice your double axel—or maybe just take a few leisurely laps with loved ones. Grab your mittens, scarves, hats and wool socks; time to hit the ice!

1. Crown Center Ice Terrace

Now in its 47th year, Crown Center's Ice Terrace invites you to skate around downtown's only public outdoor rink. Every Tuesday after 5 p.m., purchase one full-price admission and receive a second admission free. Skate rentals not included.

2. The Ice at Park Place

Leawood's only outdoor skating rink is located in the heart of Park Place amongst shops and restaurants. Be sure to check Park Place's calendar for special events like Skating with Santa, Princess Skate and Valentine's Day Skate.

3. Summit Ice

Summit Ice is an 8,000-square-foot rink that was part of a recent renovation project. Enjoy concessions, extensive patio seating and multiple fire pits all season long.

4. Kansas City Ice Center
