She and her husband stained the top a beautiful dark color then used white chalk paint for the rest of the piece. They distressed the corners and decorative details, added new hardware and ended up with a beautiful buffet table for their dining room.

Denise of Salvaged Inspirations layered three different colors of chalk paint to achieve the rich jewel-tone green on this vintage empire dresser she found at an estate sale. She used black wax around the edges of the dresser and drawers to add depth and definition and added antique brass hardware that she salvaged from another dresser.
