SOMERSET, NJ — May 29, 2026 — Cedar Hill Preparatory School (CHP) honored its dedicated student-athletes and coaches last night at its Annual Athletic Banquet, capping off a remarkable year of competition, sportsmanship, and growth across the school's thriving sports programs.
From the soccer pitch to the track, the volleyball court to the tennis courts, CHP student-athletes demonstrated the same qualities in competition that define a Cedar Hill education: perseverance, teamwork, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
A Season Worth Celebrating
Soccer once again proved to be a cornerstone of CHP athletics, with players showcasing their skill, hustle, and heart across every match of the season. The team's dedication to the game — and to each other — was on full display throughout a competitive season that highlighted what CHP athletics is all about.
On the track, CHP's student-athletes pushed personal bests and gave everything they had. Whether racing against the clock or the competition, our runners exemplified the IB Learner Profile value of being principled — showing up, putting in the work, and competing with integrity.
The volleyball program continued its strong tradition at CHP, with players demonstrating sharp communication, fast reflexes, and remarkable team chemistry. Every set, spike, and save reflected the hours of practice and the spirit of a program on the rise.
CHP's tennis program rounded out an impressive athletic year, with student-athletes competing with focus, finesse, and a competitive fire that made every match worth watching. Tennis demands both mental toughness and technical precision — and CHP's players brought both to the court all season long.
"What makes me proudest isn't just the wins — it's watching our students show up for each other, push through challenges, and grow into confident, resilient young people. Athletics teaches lessons that last far beyond the game, and this group embodied that all year long," said Courtney Tierney, Physical Education and Health Teacher.
Coaches Recognized for Their Dedication
The banquet was also an opportunity to celebrate the coaches who make it all possible. Each coach was honored with flowers and recognition for their tireless commitment to developing not just athletes, but confident, resilient young people.
Looking Ahead
With a growing sports culture and a student body that shows up ready to compete, Cedar Hill Preparatory School's athletic programs are stronger than ever. As the 2025–2026 school year draws to a close, the energy in that gymnasium was unmistakable — and it's only building.
