When I first learned of a degenerative knee issue, it was due to sharp stabbing pain when I walked up and down the stairs in our four level home. The doctor told me I was too young for the medical option, which is joint replacement surgery. So I was urged to work on losing weight and strengthening the quadriceps muscles to better support the knee joint. I had seen the South Beach diet book at my mother's home, and decided to try that diet. My husband and I both lost weight as he, too, joined me on the same diet. We also joined a local gym, hired a trainer and got to work on strengthening the muscles around my knees. This was just the beginning of our health journey!
Within a few months, hubbie was off his blood pressure medication, and within 6 months we had shed 50 lbs between us and my knees were no longer bothering me. Gaining confidence in lifestyle changes, we continued our health journey and became workout buddies in the gym, spending 3-5 mornings a week building our muscles and stretching our limbs and loosening our joints. The South Beach diet taught us to emphasize low-glycemic food choices and shun processed foods. I love to cook so it was easy to swap easy home cooked meals for the highly processed ready to cook entrees from the frozen food section.
With the cessation of the knee pain, I felt as though I'd gained 20 years of my life back! That was in my early 40's.
Fast forward 20 years, and occasionally, my pain would flare up. My knees were crackling, and they felt stiff, especially when navigating stairs.
When I was introduced to LifeWave light therapy patches, it seemed like the next right thing to add to, again, address these knee issues.
I'm happy to say that I have taken the right path, the crackling, stiffness and pain are gone!
On June 10th, I will be giving a talk in Chantilly about how these tiny little light therapy patches are helping others to not only conquer their joint pain, but move and live comfortably.
