Li'l Flower Shop Embraces Change and Crafts Trends Under New Leadership

Li’l Flower Shop has been privileged to be part of the Windsor community for over five
decades. Though ownership has changed over the years, it remains a time-honored
establishment. As seasons transition and trends evolve, so has Li’l Flower Shop. Now
under the vibrant leadership of Manager Anna Brooks and Assistant Manager, April
Glaser, they are dedicated to redefining floral artistry. To remain in line with trends in
floral design, they’re incorporating different design styles where art meets nature,
moving away from some of the standard design techniques.

Li’l Flower Shop also seeks to establish itself as a premier destination for wedding
floristry. Anna shares, “Recognizing weddings as deeply personal milestones, we want
to be part of a couple's special day, be in tune with their vision, hone in on what they're
looking for, and make it bigger and better than they thought. Whether it’s a romantic
garden affair or a sleek modern ceremony, the Li’l Flower Shop provides comprehensive wedding services tailored to each couple’s preferences and venue. From bridal bouquets to ceremony arches and reception centerpieces, every aspect of the floral decor is meticulously planned and executed. With an unwavering commitment to quality and creativity, they want to ensure every wedding day is adorned with floral splendor, leaving lasting impressions on guests and cherished memories for the newlyweds.” Thank you to Dora Grace Bridal, Windsor Mill Event Venue, Windsong Estate Event Center, and McCreery House for participating in the photoshoot.

Anna’s flower-arranging tips for personal use include getting creative with foliage in your
yard, even trimming evergreen shrubs, adding a great scent to your arrangement. Have
fun with arrangements, while considering where you'll place them.  If they’re going
against a wall, make them one-sided. Put tall greens in the back.  Add large focal flowers
like dahlias, roses, or hydrangeas at the base to draw attention. Use line flowers like
snapdragons, larkspur, or foxglove for movement and height. For an arrangement that's viewable from all sides, use a low container with minimal greenery at the base. Two hydrangeas on opposite sides add balance. For enhanced interest in a horizontal design, add wispy, whimsical filler flowers like Nigella or Feverfew.  Change the water every few days to keep it fresh and prevent bacteria, and cut stems at an angle to expose as much of the capillaries as possible.

Thriving under new leadership, Li’l Flower Shop is expanding its online presence for
easier access to arrangements and wedding services. Community engagement stays
key, with workshops and events planned to inspire new florists and connect with loyal
customers.
