It’s been said that “life is just a bowl of cherries,” and it just so happens that cherries might improve your life. This nutrient-dense, heart-healthy fruit may lower blood pressure and cholesterol, combat inflammation, help the body manage stress, speed recovery after exercise, balance your mood and help you sleep. To say it is a superfood may be an understatement. So it’s only fitting that we include a mocktail recipe with cherries as the star ingredient this month. Cherry Fizz
Ingredients
¼ cup Frozen cherries
¼ cup Tart cherry juice
1 tsp honey, optional
1 lime wedge
Sparkling water
Mint leaves
Instructions
Place cherries and honey in glass and muddle together.
Add cherry juice and top with sparkling water or ginger ale. (If adding ginger ale, do not add honey.)
Squeeze lime juice and add lime wedge.
Garnish with mint leaf.
