Christmas Morning French Toast Casserole

Happy Holidays! Every Christmas it has become our family tradition to bake a breakfast casserole first thing in the morning. This French Toast Casserole recipe is easy and can be prepped ahead of time so your family can enjoy it while opening gifts. Why spend hours in the kitchen when you can make this ahead of time and relax with loved ones? Hot cocoa, coffee, and eggnog all pair nicely with this fabulous breakfast dish.

Ingredients:

1 French Loaf Fresh Bread

6 Large Eggs

1 cup Whole Milk

1/2 cup Heavy Whipped Cream

1/3 cup Organic Sugar

1 tsp Cinnamon

1/4 tsp Sea Salt

Toppings:

5 tablespoons Melted Butter

3 tablespoons Brown Sugar

1/2 tsp Nutmeg

Process: Make the night before and refrigerate. Cook on Christmas morning.

On Christmas Eve, cut bread into 1-inch slices and then 2-inch cubes.

Place bread into a 9x13 greased baking dish.

In a separate bowl, whisk eggs. Add milk, heavy cream, cinnamon, sea salt, and sugar. Pour evenly over bread.

Next mix toppings listed above. Drizzle over French toast.

Cover and refrigerate overnight.

On Christmas morning, preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Bake for 40 minutes until browned and slightly crunchy texture. Serve with maple syrup, whipped cream, and strawberries.
