Curious How a Local Magazine Is Created? Spend a Day With Our Publishers.

My husband, Jake, and I began publishing our first magazine in Bridgewater a little over two years ago. We're often asked how we spend our time and what exactly it means to be a publisher. While no two days are identical, here's a peek at what a typical day in our life looks like.

6 AM - Kick off the day on the right foot at Orangetheory Fitness.

8:15 AM - Drop our daughters off at school.

9: AM - Stop in to visit one of our partners and drop off the latest issue of one  of our magazines.

10 AM - Prepare for a meeting with a prospective client. We spend a lot of time in coffee shops!

12 PM - Rotary Club Lunch. Jake meets weekly with the Club of Somerville and Bridgewater.

1:30 PM - Call with our Editor to confirm the day's photoshoot went as planned.

2 PM - Film a Facebook Live with one of our partners. Throughout the month we find creative ways to interview our clients.

3 PM - Pick up our girls from school.

3:30 PM - Through the remainder of the afternoon, we play chauffeur and shuffle our children from activity to activity. Let's not forget about homework or getting dinner on the table, either.

7 PM - It's networking time! We are members of the Somerset County Business Partnership and find ourselves at a lot of cocktail hours, ribbon cuttings and mingling with other business owners.

9:30 PM - Get a quick proofing round in for the next issue. Those deadlines come up quickly!

10 PM - Drop in bed for some sweet dreams.
