Move over Chip and Joanna, Bellevue has its own ultimate home renovation duo, Zach and Emily Roberts. With years of home building experience, Zach plays an integral part in refining remodeling details and staying within budget, and as realtor, Emily has a love for home design and eye for trends. Together, they have the skills to make their design dreams a reality. “At this point, we are very seasoned when it comes to home renovations - for better or for worse - as this is the third home we have taken on together” says Emily.
Currently, the couple and their family live in a 1952 rambler that feels right out of California. Emily believes it is essential to keep the design of a home in line with the architecture. “I try to keep the design simple but layer in the personality with vintage lighting, decor, and textiles.” She finds inspiration from many of Roberts Group's projects, as well as local talented designers such as Katie Hackworth, Heidi Caillier, and Brian Paquette.
The Roberts advice to those considering a kitchen remodel is not to be afraid of mixing high and low-cost items in your space and to work with a good designer and contractor who will help you allocate wisely. Emily and Zach were fortunate to work with the subcontractors that Roberts Group hires, making the process smooth.
“We love our kitchen most when it's filled with family, friends, gorgeous food, wine, music, and laughter. We created this kitchen for gatherings - we can't wait to get back to enjoying it the way it was intended to be enjoyed.”
Detail #1
As a custom home builder and realtor, Zach and Emily Roberts have always connected over homes, design trends and architecture. Zach gives Emily full reign on design (smart man) but together they review sources, sketches, and mood boards.
Detail #2:
Nature is the Robert’s source for color palette, which consists of white, tan, black, blues of the ocean and greens of the grasses. They wanted to mix in as many natural elements as they could, with a goal of capturing the ease of nature's palette and encourage indoor-outdoor flow.
Detail #3
Minimal and modern details include: Hardware from Chown Hardware, Newport Brass faucet, and pulls by Alno. Appliances include a Wolf range, Bosch refrigerator and dishwashers (two was a must-have!), and Uline wine fridge.
