Meet Laura Legg: I am truly honored to have been asked and so grateful for the opportunity to represent the Roswell Woman’s Club as President. This community means a great deal to me, and I am excited to share my responses to the four questions below.
What inspired your commitment to both leadership and giving back to the Roswell
community?
It starts with how special this community is, which my family and I felt as soon as we moved to
Roswell. It is a place where people genuinely care and get involved, and that energy is
contagious. Being in a leadership role allows me to channel that energy into something
meaningful, whether that is supporting local initiatives or creating opportunities for people to
connect and give back. And when you truly love where you live, giving back does not feel like
an obligation, it feels natural.
How do you define success today—and how has that evolved as you’ve grown personally and professionally?
Success today feels a lot more grounded and personal than it used to. Earlier in my career, I
measured success by external things, titles, achievements, and checking the next box. While
these still matter, they are no longer the whole picture.
Now, I think of success as staying true to my values and making a real difference. It is about
showing up with purpose, building strong relationships, and knowing that what I am doing
matters to both myself and others. As I have grown, I have come to value balance more. Success means achieving your goals while still having the capacity to be present, to give back, and enjoy the journey. I am especially grateful for the opportunity to lead the Roswell Woman’s Club; it has been a role that brings all these things together for me.
In a community like Roswell, what role do you believe women play in shaping its future
and culture?
A quote that beautifully sums it up from Kofi Annan is, “When women thrive, all of society
benefits.” In a community like Roswell, women play a vital role in shaping both the future and the culture by serving as connectors, leaders, and advocates. Women are often at the center of building community by bringing people together through schools, nonprofits, local organizations, and small businesses. They help create a strong sense of connection and belonging that defines a town like Roswell. Through their leadership, service, and ability to bring people together, women don’t just support the community, they help define its heart and direction for generations to come.
What advice would you give to the next generation of women who want to lead with both
purpose and impact?
I would strongly encourage the next generation of women to get involved in their community by
leading with clarity, courage, and a strong sense of purpose. Take the time to understand what
truly matters to you. Connect with others and invest in your community. The most impactful leaders bring people together and create space for more voices to be heard. I try to live by a simple principle: leave it better than it was before. To me, leadership is about making a positive difference and creating something others can build on. I am excited for the next generation of women leaders in Roswell, and I hope they continue to make it an even better place to live.
