Award-winning chef Zack Trabbold and his wife, Natalie Trabbold, have built their two restaurants -- The Local and Natalie’s Seafood Kitchen (under the Evolved Hospitality Brand) -- from scratch. Along with their incredible team, they have put their heart and soul into creating approachable food and cocktail/mocktail menus for the community.

For January, the two have shared mocktail recipes from each of their restaurants that highlight their commitment to seasonality so that you can bring the flavors of winter into your home, too.

Blueberry No-Jito (From The Local)

This mocktail quickly became a guest favorite--it has stayed on our mocktail menu for three years now. It’s a light, subtly sweet and subtly tart, refreshing mocktail that appeals to all crowds.

  • Blueberry compote
  • Fresh mint
  • Lemon juice
  • Agave
  • Club soda
  1. Add blueberry compote, agave, mint, and lemon juice to a shaker,
  2. Shaken vigorously, then double-strain into a rocks glass.
  3. Top with fresh ice and club soda.

Winter Lemonade (From Natalie’s Seafood)

A winter wonderland in a glass! This drink is balanced with the perfect winter spice and refreshing touch of fizz and citrus.

  • Brown sugar and vanilla simple syrup
  • House-made fresh lemonade
  • Ginger beer
  • Cinnamon stick
  • Dried citrus
  1. Add the brown sugar and vanilla simple syrup to a shaker.
  2. Shake vigorously.
  3. Strain into a glass over fresh ice and top with ginger beer.

The Local in Harford County has won Best Cocktail Program twice and changes its menu seasonally. Natalie's Seafood Kitchen has been in business for less than a year and focuses its bar program on its crush menu using fresh ingredients (watermelons pureed down, cucumbers pureed down, etc). Any of its crushes made with fresh fruits can be made into a mocktail.
