A Mother's Day Out

Celebrate Mom All Day With Our Mother's Day Guide.

Mother’s Day is almost here! Whether the mom in your life wants a day of solo pampering, spending time with their special someone, a day with girls, or enjoying time with the whole family, we have the perfect Mother’s Day planned for you. If there’s one thing we know, it’s that moms don’t need one more thing to plan! Make the day all about mom and let her know just how special she is with our Mother’s Day guide.

Morning Pampering at The Cave Salt Yoga & Spa

Start your day with some well-deserved self-care at The Cave Salt Yoga & Spa with locations in Wayzata and Mound. A family-run and woman-owned business, The Cave knows how to create the perfect Mother’s Day experience. Start with a relaxing massage, Reiki or Thai bodywork before letting all your stress and worries melt away with their meditation classes, sound baths, and dry salt therapy.
The bliss doesn’t end there.
Treat yourself to The Cave’s fantastic spa services. From their all-organic facial line and wax services to lash and brow tints, deciding which to get will be the only truly difficult decision you’ll make today. For Mother’s Day and throughout the month of May, The Cave is offering 15% off any facial, excluding teen and mini facials.
With so many offerings you may want to extend your Mother’s Day festivities. Join The Cave on May 14 in celebrating their four-year anniversary with a morning guided meditation and sound bath in Wayzata and a special wake-up morning yoga class at their Mound location followed by an afternoon market with massages, tarot readings, refreshments, and more.

Brunch and Bloodys at Coalition on Water Street

Better than breakfast in bed, head to Coalition in Excelsior for an incredible Mother’s Day brunch. An off-the-menu style brunch, try the delectable and satiating Breakfast Bowl with farro, cherry, bacon, arugula, avocado, sunflower seed, cream, and eggs. Another brunch favorite is Coalition’s savory Enchilada & Eggs with pulled pork, cheddar, charred corn, queso fresco, cilantro, and corn tortillas.
Round off the morning indulging in one of their featured brunch cocktails. Drink a mimosa (or two!), go for their loaded-up Bloody Mary, or revitalize yourself with their delicious Corpse Reviver cocktail. Brunch goes from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., ensuring you’ll have plenty of time to taste-test your way through their mouthwatering menu.

An Afternoon of Shopping

Spend the afternoon doing a little retail therapy perusing the shops on Lake Street in Wayzata and Excelsior's Water Street. With a myriad of local boutiques and national chain shops, you’ll have no trouble finding both high-end and affordable Spring and Summer wardrobe staples. Or at the very least, replacing those leggings you've been hanging onto for the past half-decade.
You'll also come across vintage furniture, Lake Minnetonka map throws, shoes imported from Europe, holistic health and wellness products, and plenty of Minnesota-inspired home goods. The Lake Minnetonka shopping scene offers one-of-a-kind local designs, clothing, and gifts, making it the perfect spot to shop for Mother's Day.

End the Day at 318 Café

After purchasing your new, incredibly flattering outfit, head down Water Street to 318 Café to unwind and enjoy some tasty cocktails. Every Mother’s Day weekend at 318 Café, musician Ann Reed puts on an amazing and uplifting show.

This year, the performance is Saturday night only, so you might have to start your Mother’s Day the night before as this great show is one you won’t want to miss. 318 Cafe knows how to do Mother’s Day right as moms also get a free mimosa during their Sunday brunch from 8am to 2pm.

Whether you’re a soccer mom, expecting mom, single mom, or simply 'mom', we know this Mother’s Day outing will show all Minnesota moms just how special you are and how much you're appreciated.
