If your ideal night out involves a perfectly chilled martini, low lighting, live music, and just enough buzz to keep things interesting, Collins Lobby Bar is calling your name.
Tucked inside the Galleria area, this new lounge channels classic hotel-bar energy without the stiffness. Inspired by a Paris hotel bar where owner Michael Collins and his wife, Theyen, spent New Year’s Eve, the space was designed as the kind of place where you stop in for one drink after work and somehow end up staying for hours.
The cocktail program is where things really get fun. Expect a mix of familiar favorites and playful modern takes. There is a must-try tableside martini served from a vintage cart, turning a simple drink order into an experience. More dramatic pours include a truffle-and-gold-flake Rob Roy presented in a smoking chest. If cocktails are not your thing, Collins Lobby Bar also offers an extensive wine and whiskey selection with plenty to explore.
Elevated bar bites like tuna tartare tots and mini cheeseburgers are especially tempting during Golden Hour, available Wednesday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. “This particular menu was inspired by our other concepts, Sushi on Post Oak and Ducky McShweeney’s Pub,” says Collins.
Available for private events and holiday parties, the lounge places just as much focus on atmosphere as it does on food and drinks. A baby grand piano sets the tone, while dim lighting and plush seating make it easy to get comfortable. As Collins puts it, “It’s the kind of place that pulls people in and makes them want to stay awhile.” collinslobbybar.com
