The new restaurant marks the first Huddle House location in the Kansas City metro, introducing the community to the brand’s combination of all-day breakfast, homestyle meals and hometown hospitality.
For the local ownership team, opening in Lee’s Summit felt personal. After expanding beyond convenience-store food service, they wanted to create a full, destination-style restaurant where guests could sit down and enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The fact that the owners also live in Lee’s Summit made bringing the concept to their own community even more meaningful.
Their experience operating another Huddle House in Sedalia helped shape the approach to the Lee’s Summit restaurant. One of the most important lessons was that guests value more than generous portions and familiar comfort food. They also want consistency, friendly service and an experience that feels genuinely connected to the community.
While breakfast may be Huddle House’s calling card, the restaurant is designed to offer something for nearly every craving throughout the day. Guests can order traditional breakfast favorites in the morning—or at 7 p.m.—alongside a selection of burgers, sandwiches and homestyle dinners.
For first-time visitors, the team recommends the MVP, or Most Valuable Platter. The substantial breakfast includes two eggs, a choice of hashbrowns or seasonal fruit, bacon or sausage, a waffle or pancake, and a choice of grits and toast or a biscuit topped with sausage gravy.
The MVP has already emerged as a favorite among Lee’s Summit diners, but it has some strong competition from the restaurant’s lineup of smash burgers. The Southwest Smash is a particular crowd-pleaser, while the Big House BLT and Classic Patty Melt offer familiar lunchtime comfort.

“This isn’t your upscale, stuffy restaurant,” Green says. “Sit at the bar and watch your food being prepared, or grab a table, relax and watch the traffic go by.”
That casual diner feel is central to the atmosphere the team hopes to create—one that is warm, unhurried and genuinely local. Whether guests stop in for a quick meal or linger over coffee, the goal is for Huddle House to feel more like a familiar neighborhood spot than simply another restaurant.
That begins with an energetic welcome and continues through attentive, personal service. Team members are encouraged to learn guests’ names, remember regular customers and treat each person like a neighbor rather than a ticket number.
Since opening, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. The restaurant has welcomed longtime Huddle House fans as well as guests experiencing the brand for the first time. Seeing local families begin to make the dining room part of their weekly routines has been especially rewarding for the team.
