There’s a moment in hospitality when scale gives way to intimacy—when the experience stops feeling like a reservation and starts feeling like an invitation. At La Casina, the new private event space from Tavernetta and Frasca Hospitality Group, that moment is the entire point.
Tucked just steps from Union Station, La Casina—Italian for “little house”—is designed as a fully self-contained environment, complete with its own bar, dining room, and a warm, modern alpine aesthetic layered with vintage charm. But the space is less about its physical footprint and more about what it enables: gatherings that feel considered, flexible, and distinctly personal.
“We’ve always believed that the most meaningful dining experiences are the ones that feel personal,” says Erin Pommer, director of brand for Frasca Hospitality Group. “We saw incredible demand from guests who wanted something more exclusive and considered than a typical private dining experience… and it felt like a natural moment to create something truly special.”
That sense of intention is evident the moment you walk in. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the rhythm of the Union Station platform, while light woods, a beautifully appointed dining room, and a private full-service bar create a space that feels both elevated and inviting. The design draws from Tavernetta’s identity, with carefully selected works by Slim Aarons woven throughout, giving the room a sense of continuity, but also its own personality.
“We spent a lot of time asking ourselves—who is Tavernetta?” Pommer says. “La Casina is our answer to that question… her home.”
That “home” is deliberately versatile. One day, it might host a sunlit lunch with spritzes and an easy, celebratory energy. On the other hand, it may transform into a candlelit dinner where every detail feels meticulously composed. “Like any well-drawn personality, she contains multitudes,” Pommer adds. “That range was always intentional.”
Functionally, the space fills a gap in Denver’s dining landscape. With capacity ranging from 14 to 75 guests, La Casina offers something between a restaurant buyout and a traditional event venue—intimate, but expansive enough for larger gatherings. Seated dinners can accommodate up to 50 guests, while receptions accommodate up to 75, each fully private.
“When you book La Casina, the space is entirely yours,” Pommer says. “And with it comes everything Tavernetta is known for—exceptional service and hospitality, high-quality Italian cuisine, and a thoughtful wine selection that elevates every moment.”
That foundation is only the beginning. The team is layering in bespoke experiences—intimate classes, tastings, and curated add-ons—designed to make each event feel singular. At the same time, the space is already evolving beyond private dining to host pop-ups, guest chef residencies, and the new home for their Tastemaker Dinner Series—intimate events where winemakers join you at the table, recreating the magic of dining in their home and transporting guests to the heart of each region.
.
“It’s been a beautiful thing to watch,” Pommer says. “Guests experiencing the Tavernetta spirit in a setting that feels even more intimate and connected.”
What ultimately sets La Casina apart is how seamlessly it embodies the ethos of its parent restaurant and the Frasca brand. “It’s as though you’ve been invited into the private home of the brand itself,” Pommer says. And in a city where options for groups of this size often default to ballrooms or full restaurant buyouts, that distinction matters.
Looking ahead, La Casina is poised to exist in two parallel worlds: a hidden gem for private gatherings and a dynamic hub for collaboration and programming. “It’s a space with a lot of heart,” Pommer says. “And we’re excited to see everything it becomes.”
In the end, that’s the quiet luxury La Casina offers. It’s not just a place to gather, but a place that feels, unmistakably, like it was created just for you.
