A Selah Wonderland

Community Offers Christmas Magic and a Better Way of Life

Nestled in the heart of Oklahoma, the vibrant community of Selah comes to life in a unique way during the holiday season. Known for its New Urbanism philosophy that seamlessly weaves residential, commercial, agriculture, fine dining and arts into a harmonious tapestry, Selah transforms into a winter wonderland when Christmas approaches.

With its mantra, "Inspired by the Past, Built for the Future," Selah's Christmas celebrations offer a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern festivities.

Selah takes the spirit of Christmas seriously, and nothing exemplifies this more than the spectacular 385,000 light display that adorns the entry district and its buildings as well as throughout the community.

Selah developer Brett Adkins is often called “Clark Griswold” by his staff for his love of all things “Big/Better/Best”—especially when it comes to having the most lights and largest live Christmas tree he can find, with help from Jessie with Wells Christmas Tree Farm.

Selah, itself, is an amenity to Oklahoma. With a commitment to offering not just a better way of life for the people who live there but for the greater community as well, perhaps one of the best ways to experience what life at Selah is like is to attend one of the many community events hosted throughout the year.

One of the hallmarks of Selah's holiday celebrations is the "Christmas Vacation Kickoff," which was such a massive success when it premiered in 2022 that Selah has decided to host two events this year. The first took place Nov. 19; the second is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 2, starting at 4 p.m.

Attendees of this event will experience pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a special guest appearance by the Grinch, live music, a 52' live Christmas Tree lighting, and a one-of-a-kind interactive light display as Clark Griswold attempts to plug in over 385,000 lights during a live showing of Christmas Vacation on the outdoor big screens! Additionally, the ever-popular Pryor's Pizza Kitchen will be providing delicious food and festive drinks to anyone wishing to stay for dinner!

Giving back to the greater community is a common thread between every event provided by Selah. While admittance to the Christmas Vacation Kickoff is complementary, Selah is asking that each guest consider a financial gift to their chosen charity. Chosen Outreach, right here in Norman, serves Oklahoma children and families in crisis.

Selah is a supply to a demand for more housing but it’s also the answer to a need for more growth and community-inspired events right here in our great state! Selah is resort living at its finest—something unlike Oklahoma has ever experienced. People won’t just visit for a weekend, although they certainly will be able to, but with the community’s close proximity to I-35 and location just 30 minutes from downtown OKC, Selah is a place anyone within the metro area can call home without the need to fully relocate.

If, for some reason, you cannot make their Christmas event, Selah invites you to come visit any day throughout the week with a fully dedicated on-site Realty Team.

Grab a cup of coffee or your hot beverage of choice at our seven-day-a-week coffee boutique and wine bar, Sip at Selah. Or head over to Pryor's Pizza Kitchen, which is open Thursday through Sunday and is quickly becoming the metro’s favorite social scene with live music on Saturdays, pickle ball and a fenced-in children’s playground—not to mention Instagram-worthy photo ops at every turn.

And Pryor's has nine heated snowglobes available to rent for a one-of-a-kind festive dining experience for families, couples or groups of friends. Reservations are open to the public now at PryorsPizza.com/snowglobes.
