Step inside The Tea Charmer, and you’re instantly transported to a slower, softer pace of life. Owner, Jayna Owens built the tearoom to create a space for people to stop and have a place of respite and be able to create that within their own homes. She wanted to bring a peaceful pause to New Braunfels, giving guests a space to relax, recharge, and savor the moment.

The Tea Charmer’s menu is as much about flavor as it is about feeling. Teas are selected by taste from U.S. distributors who source from India and China, ensuring every blend is a winner. The shop’s “Happy Tea”—a jasmine- and hibiscus-infused green tea—is a best-seller and an ideal starting point for new tea drinkers. For winding down, the Sleep Blend is a fan favorite. With chamomile, lavender, and other soothing herbs, it’s flavorful, calming, and—according to one loyal customer—worth sending your spouse in to buy if you’re too embarrassed to admit you love it.

First-timers are guided through the tea selection with scent jars, flavor questions, and $15 sample packs that let you taste every tea without committing to a tin.

The Tea Charmer’s main attraction is its high tea and party experiences. Each event is planned down to the last detail by their in-house party planner and baker, who also handles gluten-free and special dietary requests. Every table features plain scones with house jams and curds, mini cakes, macarons, cheesecake bites, fruit tarts, seasonal savories, complimentary champagne, and, of course, full tea service.

Soon, guests will be able to take home exclusive, private-label jams and spreads—20 to 30 varieties only available in New Braunfels.

From elegant baby showers to the much-loved Wassail Fest (where five gallons sold out in 45 minutes), The Tea Charmer knows how to host a crowd. October will bring “Tea at Five,” a Sunday theater event featuring the life of Katharine Hepburn and intermission treats. Little guests get their moment too, thanks to monthly Disney Princess teas in partnership with Once Upon a Party.

For those who just want a quiet cup, the tearoom now has a “Cup-of-Tea” table where guests can choose any tea and teacup for $9.99 a pot and enjoy the view. Seasonal blends like pumpkin tea, chocolate chai, and Christmas tea keep the menu fresh, while festive candles and décor add to the charm.

At The Tea Charmer, the tea is hot, the champagne is chilled, and every visit feels like a well-earned break.
