You’ve chosen the guest. You’re planning the meal. You’re creating a moment of connection, and your table should do the same.
Found objects, pieces of intrigue and history can spark conversation and connection between your guests. Think about little items of discovery, like a speckled feather resting on a plate or a personal keepsake, and place it under glass.
Use Grandma’s old plates and a beautiful set of linen napkins, or head to your local thrift store and find some for yourself.
Grab a vintage rug and place it on a chair or bench. Add cowhide or sheepskin for another inviting layer. Seating should be an extension of your table.
Work with your local farmer. Ask them to create a beautiful centerpiece of seasonal blooms and let it be generous. Thank you, Oliver Retzloff, Farmer/Florist of Wild Nectar Farm.
Your guest, the meal you’ve prepared, and the table should all create a moment of connection, curiosity, and conversation.
