Raul Grippaldi began his salon career while cutting men’s hair in his father’s salon in Argentina. In 1996, Raul founded Trendz Color & Design Salon, a large modern salon in Florham Park that is recognized for its precision haircuts, expert color services, and high-quality hair extensions. Trendz also offers manicures, pedicures, waxing, and facials, with an experienced team of 35 specialists with expertise in diverse hair types and textures who stay on top of the latest industry trends by continuous training both in and outside of the salon. “I love both the artistic part of it and working with my hands,” he says. “When I came to the U.S., I started doing ladies’ haircuts and color and I always liked how I made people feel.” Raul still provides services to clients, and is a true expert in hair extensions.
The salon’s Bridal Boutique provides a spacious, private suite for up to 20 guests, ideal for bridal parties and other celebrations. Clients may use in-house stylists, nail technicians, and makeup artists, or bring their own. Catering options are available, and guests are welcome to bring their own food and beverages. The salon accommodates early appointments to ensure timely preparation. The suite also serves as a venue for adult gatherings, such as birthdays and bachelorette parties, with access to salon services and flexible catering arrangements.
“Instead of renting a hotel room or another venue to do their hair and makeup, they can get ready at Trendz in a more comfortable place,” says Raul. The salon will open early for bridal parties whenever needed so everyone can be ready on time. “We sometimes open at 6:00 in the morning,” says Raul.
The Bridal Boutique does double duty as a party space for other fun adult get togethers such as a girls’ night out, birthday parties and bachelorette parties where people can take advantage of some of the salon’s many services. Once again, hosts and guests are able to bring in and enjoy their favorite foods and cocktails, or request food and soft drinks through the salon.
Trendz’s 35 stylists have a wide range of specialties, so clients with different hair types and textures can sit back and relax knowing that the person handling their hair is an expert. In addition to their own training, the team is able to attend the many classes the salon offers, so they are always up on the latest skills and trends.
