Can you get fit just by walking? Many fitness and health experts say "YES!" Walking helps improve fitness, burn calories, and reduce the health risks of a sedentary lifestyle. 

Experts say 30 minutes per day, five or more days per week of brisk walking can help reduce health risks.

Here's an easy walking workout to start your health journey.

*  Warm up at an easy pace for five to 10 minutes

  • Speed up to a brisk pace for 10 minutes.
  • Slow to an easy pace for one to three minutes.
  • Repeat for 30 minutes of walking
  • Stretch before and after to reduce risk of injury
  • If you have been walking for less than 30 minutes at a time, start with a 10 or 20-minute walk and add minutes each day.
