This time of the year is always really exciting for me because I love to see all the fresh spring arrivals popping up in the retail stores around town and finding out what trends fashion brands are featuring for the new spring season! One thing I always pay close attention to is what styles and colors are being placed in store front windows and what items are featured on each brand's websites. This season I've already seen so much of the new Color of the Year: Classic Blue!
I love to do color research before buying new wardrobe pieces at the beginning of each new season. Color makes such an impact on my wardrobe and sets the tone for all the trends in fashion for the entire year. Each season the team at the Pantone Color Institute create the Pantone Fashion Color Trend Report; a color overview highlighting the top colors that fashion designers featured at New York Fashion Week. Dominant colors on the catwalk are key indicators of the color stories that we can expect to see showing up across all areas fashion and design. The Color Trend Report is an easily accessible guide to the season’s most important color trends and is very useful when it comes to discovering the "it" colors each season.
Whenever I am incorporating a new color into my wardrobe, I like to start with a classic wardrobe staple like a blazer or a jacket. I typically like to style and restyle classic pieces before I commit to buying more of a certain color. This micro-suede moto jacket was a perfect addition to my wardrobe and has already been worn and re-worn several ways!
