A Newer City
Before 1818, this land was Creek and Cherokee Indian territory. In the 1800s, Pinckneyville was a stopover for those headed south. Some settlers stayed and discovered its rich farmland and water resources from the Chattahoochee River. Soon a tavern, inn, church, and post office were built. The area was known as Pinckneyville and largely stayed a farming community until the 1960s.
At that time, businessman Paul Duke saw the area and envisioned a city. He started a campus for high tech industries and was soon attracting engineers from Georgia Universities. By the 1970s, neighborhoods were being developed, including the North Manor, Peachtree Station, Revington, Lynnfield, Riverfield, and Amberfield. Soon families and tech companies were moving to the area.
On July 1st, 2012, Peachtree Corners was officially incorporated, and the area has continued to grow with new construction happening all the time.
Homes for Everyone
Living in Peachtree Corners is a dream, with around 93 neighborhoods from which to choose. Homes average $425,000 for 3-4 bedrooms and 2-3 bathrooms with decent lots. There are less expensive starter homes, townhomes, ranch homes, multi-story family homes, riverfront homes, senior living homes, homes in gated communities, and homes over $2 million. Most neighborhoods have large trees and manicured lawns. Many neighborhoods have HOA's with active swim and tennis clubs.

Neighborhoods
Here are several of the neighborhoods from which to choose. Take a drive and see which one resonates with you and your lifestyle.
North Manor is along Jones Bridge Circle and Fitzpatrick Way. Homes are between 1,800 and 2,300 square feet with 3-4 bedrooms and 2-3 bathrooms. Lots are almost ½ acre, and styles are traditional, modern, colonial, and cape cod.
Springfield has modern ranch homes with character. Built in the early 1980s, they have 3-4 bedrooms and 2-3 baths in 1,800 square feet.
Jones Bridge Landing homes consist of cape cod, traditional and contemporary homes. They range from 1,900 to 2,400 square feet with 4-5 bedrooms and 3-4 bathrooms. This neighborhood also gives you the option to join the Jones Bridge Swim and Tennis Club for neighborhood recreation.
Linfield has homes that average $618,000, typically built in the early 1990s. The houses are larger with five bedrooms and four bathrooms. They have open floor plans with windows, vaulted ceilings, and decorative moldings. This neighborhood is next door to Jones Bridge Park and Simpson Elementary School. There is plenty of green space in addition to large private yards and a homeowner's association.
Amberfield features 450 homes with 4-6 bedrooms and 4-6 bathrooms with an average home price of $670,000. Homes feature open floor plans with lots of windows, large kitchens, and great rooms with a fireplace. There are even larger homes and lots in the estate section. A swim and tennis facility are in the neighborhood with two pools and eight tennis courts. Social events are held at the clubhouse. The Fowler YMCA is a short walk and includes a senior center, summer camps, and swim lessons. Amberfield is located next to The Forum – a shopping, dining, and office area.
Riverfield homes are along the Chattahoochee River and are surrounded by forested land. Open floor plans have high ceilings and large windows to enjoy the view. The neighborhood has a premier swim and tennis facility, and many residents join competitive tennis leagues. There is also a clubhouse that hosts socials, movie nights, a fall carnival, and barbecues. An outdoor field is ready for football, baseball, or soccer games. The River Front trail is excellent for walking or jogging along the river.
Peachtree Station has 717 homes that were built in the 1980s. These are traditional homes with large, wooded lots. The builder made sure that every floor plan was unique. There is a swim and tennis club and a playground and picnic area outside the clubhouse. The active volunteer homeowner's association keeps entrances to the neighborhood welcoming and hosts community events for residents throughout the year. The Forum is a short walk away from shopping and dining. Grocery stores and movie theaters are also in that complex.
River Station has large traditional homes in a hilly neighborhood with curvy streets. There are plenty of trees and manicured lawns. Homes have hardwood floors, bay windows, gourmet kitchens, and spacious master bedrooms. The neighborhood is near the Chattahoochee River, with some homes right on the river. The swim and tennis club is right on the river as well with opportunities for competitive matches. A social committee organizes bonfires, July 4th celebrations, Halloween parties, and Christmas festivities.
Neely Farms is also along the Chattahoochee River and features beautiful landscapes among rolling hills. Up until the 1970s, Frank Neely operated a dairy farm on the property; the original building was converted into a clubhouse. The homes are custom-built and luxurious with stone countertops, stainless steel appliances, home theatres, and exercise rooms. A 20-acre private park on the river, tennis, and swimming pools are available for recreation.
Riverview is one of the first neighborhoods to be developed in the 1970s. It has river lots with amazing views, large trees, and beautiful landscaping. Some lots are over 2 acres with 2,500 to 11,000 square foot homes. There is a horse pasture and a private lake in the area. A private park on the river has a playground and picnic tables. Residents can hike, fish, and gather for social events.
Wellington Lake has homes built around a private lake. Privacy fences and landscaping provide privacy. Homes are luxurious with chef's kitchens, butler's pantries, home theaters, and terraces offering beautiful views. Master suites with large closets, roomy bathrooms, and spa tubs are standard. This neighborhood is located near Hwy 141 for easy commutes.
Nearby Schools
Peachtree Corners has many highly rated public and private school choices. Gwinnett County Public Schools oversee the public school system. Elementary schools include Simpson Elementary School, Peachtree Elementary School, and Berkeley Lake Elementary School. Middle Schools include Duluth Middle School and Pinckneyville Middle School. High Schools include Duluth High School, Norcross High School, Paul Duke STEM High School, and Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology. There are also several charter schools.
Private schools include Wesleyan School and Cornerstone Christian Academy.
There are several nationally renowned colleges in nearby Atlanta, including Georgia State University, Morehouse College, and Clark Atlanta University.
Technology Hub
Downtown Atlanta is only 30 minutes away, but the chances are that you'll be able to work in Peachtree Corners. The city was built around Technology Park Atlanta, home to many Fortune 500 businesses and high-tech companies. Comcast, Intuitive Surgical, Soliant Health, Amazon, CarMax, Mass Mutual, Honeywell, Siemens, and many more have large offices in the area. Hapag-Lloyd is the 5th largest shipping company in the world and has its headquarters in Peachtree Corners. City Hall is also located in the Technology Park.
Prototype Prime is a business incubator that promotes entrepreneurship. Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners is a testing ground for autonomous vehicles and smart city technology. There are 1 ½ mile of test track for autonomous vehicles, which serves as a driverless shuttle throughout the area.
The Curiosity Lab hosts over a dozen start-ups companies that thrive on innovation.
Students from Georgia Tech University can take classes in Technology Park Atlanta and participate in research projects at various companies.
Peachtree Corners has a few other firsts in technology, including the first 5G deployment in Metro Atlanta, the first teleoperated E-scooters, and the first "living" laboratory.
If you need to commute, Peachtree Corners has the State of Georgia's largest electrical charging facility. If you need to fly out for business, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is 29 miles south of the city and is accessible by highway or MARTA (Metro Area Rapid Transit Authority).
Beautiful Outdoors
Peachtree Corners earned its Tree City designation for the beautiful trees everywhere you look. Not only around the Chattahoochee but along neighborhood streets and in parks. This gives it a comforting feel. Take advantage of Atlanta's beautiful weather with dozens of parks and the Chattahoochee River National Recreation area, where you can fish, boat, hike, or tube on the cool river. Jones Bridge Park is a great place where you can catch an outdoor concert, have a picnic, or take kids to the playground. It is right on the river for birdwatching, wildlife viewing, and water sports. There is a soccer field and walking trails.
Simpsonwood Park is also along the Chattahoochee River and has over 200 acres of hiking and relaxation. There is also a wedding chapel you can rent out. Go hiking and cycling on the Corners Connector Trail System, which connects many neighborhoods and parks. Go swimming at one of the public pools.
Pinckneyville Park has a soccer field and baseball complex, walking and biking trails, a skating park, a dog park, and areas to grill and picnic.
Catch festivals and parades, including the annual summer concert series, the "Art on the Chattahoochee" festival with artists, performers, chalk art and crafts, and other summer and Christmas festivals and markets. The town lights a great tree for the holidays.
If you are a tennis fan or player, there are numerous courts throughout the area and the Southern Section of the United States Tennis Association (USTA). You might catch the next Wimbledon champion practicing.
Shopping/Dining for Every Taste
If the indoors is more your style, check out Peachtree Corners Town Center with retail shops, restaurants, dinner theater, movie theater, amphitheater, townhomes, a 2+ acre Town Green. There are dessert shops, including Beard Papa's and Cinnaholic. In between shopping, kids can play on climbing equipment or slide down a hill.
There are outdoor concerts and a Veterans Monument. Across the street, connected by a pedestrian bridge, is an outdoor mall called The Forum on Peachtree Parkway with even more restaurants and boutique shops.
