Run, don’t walk, to Old Stone Fort State Park in Manchester, TN. My girls and I spent the most beautiful day surrounded by the most dreamy scenery!
You can hear the waterfall as you start the trail. The peacefulness of the water is amazing. We walked along the water the whole way. You can walk along the water or stay on the trail. We started the trail and could see water instantly.
The first area was beautiful, but didn’t look easy to access so we walked about 10 minutes and found a dreamy spot. We could climb under the waterfall, which felt amazing.
You get it all here: waterfalls, fishing holes, swimming holes, a great (easy/moderate) hike, and more! If you are adventurous and brave we noticed a few people climbing down the big waterfall at the end.
Wear your bathing suit and water shoes - pack a lunch and stay a while! We passed several people that had hung hammocks. Just FYI it is a loop so you can’t get lost!
The museum at the entrance has maps if you want one. We drove from Franklin and stopped along the way for lunch and milkshakes. The kids loved breaking the drive up and exploring a new area. I hope you get a chance to go! We give this day five stars!
