January is a time for recommitment to health and well-being for many people. In 2023, Emory Johns Creek Hospital, in collaboration with Emory University and Emory Healthcare, is focusing on what well-being means to our employees and community. Last year, Emory Healthcare established an Office of Well-Being, launching a new wellness campaign (EmWell) to develop well-being programs for all Emory clinicians, faculty, and staff. This gave Emory Johns Creek Hospital’s existing committee of wellness influencers increased support to build healthy community outreach programs, as well as workplace wellness initiatives for employees. Your local Emory Johns Creek Hospital will be working to reimagine several core tenants of health and well-being, such as healthy weight management, mental and spiritual health, stress management, food and nutrition, physical wellness, and professional well-being in the workplace.
Well-Being for the Community
Eating habits, physical activity, and healthy weight goals are top of mind this time of year for a variety of reasons. Emory Johns Creek Hospital wants to support you - wherever you are on your wellness journey. We offer outpatient nutrition counseling services (in-person and virtual) to help you crush your nutrition goals in 2023! To take advantage of this service, call us at 678.474.8100 and select option 2 to get scheduled. If you’re thinking about medically supervised weight loss, our diverse team of medical and surgical professionals can help by introducing you to our innovative medical weight loss programs and bariatric surgery offerings. Fun fact: Weight loss and bariatric surgery have been a foundational service line of Emory Johns Creek Hospital since it was founded and the hospital has been nationally accredited for metabolic and bariatric surgery since 2005!
As our hospital works toward increasing wellness initiatives, be on the lookout for the launch of more community-based wellness programs!
Professional Well-Being
Our award-winning hospital supports over 1000 onsite team members and hundreds of community physicians and clinics across Northeast Atlanta. Our dedicated staff enables us to provide unique and world-class services to the Johns Creek community. We could not be more excited to develop and explore more well-being initiatives to support the personal and professional well-being of our nationally recognized healthcare team. There are several ongoing well-being initiatives currently in place for our staff. On certain days, staff can hang out in the Zen Den with Nurse Nickie to experience guided meditation and relaxation. We are proud to offer access to certified faith community nurses, a spiritual health team, and a sanctuary to support our team’s spiritual needs. In addition, free access to an employee gym, Walking on Wednesdays, and the Emory Move More Challenge are fun opportunities to improve physical well-being. We’re so excited to bring back the Scrub Run 5K in 2023 - and there are more well-being programs to come!
Together, let’s make 2023 a year of wellness. Let us know how we can help you achieve your goals for optimal health and well-being.
