Why Now?

After celebrating the 2nd anniversary of my 35th birthday, I decided to change careers

"They say that if you find something you love to do you will never have to work a day in your life. I have been so lucky more than once in my life." Linda Rocha

I was born and raised in New York.  I met my husband when I was 12 years old and we have been happily married for almost 50 years. For 18 years I worked in the medical field before moving to South Florida in 1986. That is when I became involved in the dance community. It became my passion. I threw myself into every aspect of the art that didn’t require me to dance – operations, client related activities, fundraising, graphic design, advertising, technical activities. That was my life for over 26 years! Even after I moved to Gainesville to be near my children and grandchildren I was once again surrounded with dance and the dance community, as the Director of Development/Marketing for Dance Alive National Ballet.

Now I am a Diplomat for the Greater Gainesville Chamber of Commerce, Board Member for Alachua Hospitality Council, Seat on the Tourist Development Council, Cotton Club Museum and Cultural Club Advisory Board, Gainesville Woman’s Club… I LOVE this community!

Learning so much about Gainesville and the people that live here, I knew it was time for me to take that leap of faith. I got my Real Estate license and began the search for a Broker to sign with that shared the love for this community that I had.  All roads lead to Keller Williams Gainesville Realty Partners, where Craig Wilburn had the faith and trust in me to ask me to join Team Dynamo, which was pivotal in my career.

So why not change careers sooner? It was always the right time. I was doing what I was supposed to be doing, at each phase of my life. I am as ready now with the same tenacity and enthusiasm as my first career.
