Aledo Pediatric Dentistry

A Haven for Children's Dental Care

In the heart of Aledo, a new haven of curated, custom dental care has emerged, led by the compassionate Dr. Adrienne Archidiacono-Jeanis and her talented staff. With 13 years of experience in pediatric dentistry, Dr. “A.” brings a deep understanding and affinity for a holistic approach to treating children, ranging from newborns to adolescents. Her journey in dentistry began on the East Coast where she attended Boston University, honing her skills and developing a deep passion for pediatric dental health. Following her studies, she moved to Houston, where she completed a rigorous residency program at the University of Texas Houston. Now as a resident of the Aledo community, Dr. A. has transformed a local pediatrician's office into Aledo Pediatric Dentistry, a practice that embodies her vision of a calming and nurturing environment.

The beautiful office is intentionally decorated in soothing colors and textures. "Every aspect of my practice has been designed by me and reflects the vision I had of offering a calming yet fun environment for the children and their families," says Dr. A. This vision is evident from the moment you step into Aledo Pediatric Dentistry. The practice is meticulously designed to reduce stress and anxiety for both children and their parents. Soft colors, child-friendly decor, and a welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a positive dental experience.

Dr. A.’s holistic approach extends beyond the aesthetics of the environment. Her personal background in yoga plays a significant role in creating a fun and calming atmosphere. Yoga techniques are subtly integrated into the practice, helping children relax and feel at ease.

Having studied under the renowned Dr. Steven Perlman, who devoted much of his private practice as well as his teaching and advocacy, to the treatment of children and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities, Dr. A. is able to curate a method of treatment that works for some of her most sensitive patients. “It is so important to offer accessibility and understanding when it comes to treating our friends with special needs, whether those needs are physical or intellectual, everyone deserves to be treated in a soothing environment where they feel safe and respected. We do whatever it takes to provide that level of care for everyone.” This unique approach not only makes dental visits more enjoyable but also fosters a sense of well-being among young patients.

Keeping the well-being of her staff and patients in mind, it was important for Dr. A. to establish a dye-free and top allergen-free office. “We are all exposed to so many chemicals that we can’t control so It is important to be aware of what we are working around on a daily basis. And that includes those elements I bring into the office to care for our young patients. The newest and safest possible products are carefully chosen to optimize patients' oral health.

Understanding the importance of diet in oral health, Dr. A. advocates for reducing processed foods, which she believes are causing a rise in oral health issues and subsequent health complications. By educating parents and children about the impact of diet on dental health, she aims to address the root causes of many dental problems. This emphasis on mindful wellness is a cornerstone of her practice.

“The mouth is not a separate entity from the body. That is why I partner with other like-minded health professionals who incorporate whole-body holistic views of care and treatment .” Dr. A. explains. “For too long, dentistry has been thought of as a drill-and-fill service. That is just not the case anymore.”

Dr. A.’s 5 Suggestions for a Great Visit

  1. Start Early! We recommend children start seeing a dentist every six months at one year of age or with the eruption of the first tooth.

  2. Speak positively. Our children take on our own anxiousness very quickly.

  3. Find a local pediatric dentist that fits your needs, for really anxious children. It helps to visit the office first for happy visits so the child can familiarize themselves with the space and new faces they will meet at their appointment.

  4. Watch videos or shows that your children are familiar with that feature their favorite characters going to the dentist. Also reading books on the first dental visits with your child is a fun way to prepare.

  5. Consider your child’s age and the time of day that you are booking the appointment. Most young children do better early in the morning than later in the afternoon, after a long day.
