At Essential Escape in Medina, an authentic spa-care experience isn't just a guarantee, it's what owner, Deanna Fausnight, and her team pride themselves on. The spa and yoga studio opened in December 2020 in the former Family Video location at 210 E. Smith Rd., and has seen a massive outpouring of support from locals.
"We had [an estimated] four-month build-out that ended up taking a year because of COVID," said Deanna. "It was really hard and there were many times that I didn't know if we'd ever open. But when we finally did, I was immediately blown away. I am beyond grateful for our community and their support."
The spa's immediate success is no doubt due in part to Deanna's passion. Her love for her business, team and clients was prevalent throughout my entire interview with her. Her genuine love and pride for Essential Escape are unlike anything I have experienced while interviewing for Medina County Lifestyle.
Deanna combines her passion with hard work and a mission like none other — to improve each guest's overall quality of life at Essential Escape. She and her team do so by using an approach that combines medical expertise with an authentic spa-care experience to increase health benefits. A big part of this approach is the team's customer service model — one that focuses on building relationships and, more often than not, friendships.
"I love building relationships with clients. One of my favorite things is meeting people and being able to build a bond with them over mental and physical relief," says Deanna. "It seems like we always put ourselves last on the list of things to take care of, so it's a beautiful thing when people come into Essential Escape for a spa treatment."
And Essential Escape has no shortage of treatments. The studio offers massage, facials, hair removal services, spray tans and even yoga.
"I am currently training to become a certified yoga teacher because I love it so much," says Deanna. "I have a team of nine yoga teachers right now and they inspire me and help me grow every day, as do each and every one of my staff members."
