Nurturing Wellness and Community
By Jennifer Khosla
Jennifer Khosla is the founder and owner of Lean and Green Body® based here in Naples, FL. As a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, Yoga Instructor and Wellness Expert she works with clients 1:1 and in small group settings to create custom programs to meet their needs. In her eighth year in business, Jennifer has expanded her offerings to help guide women through nearly every stage of life.
Since welcoming her son, Bodhi, in 2022 she has expanded her focus from women’s health and nutrition to now include pre-conception nutrition, prenatal nutrition and postpartum nutrition. Jennifer will be welcoming a daughter this month, and through her own pregnancies and postpartum journey, she was able to identify a need that was not being addressed. Her goal is not only to help women understand how amazing their bodies are naturally designed to feel, but also to help women on their pregnancy and postpartum journey.
She wants to support their nutrition and wellness needs, in addition to creating a community of like-minded mothers. Creating a tribe of like-minded women has always been one of her top priorities, she never wants anyone to feel alone in what they are moving through. One way in which is has done this is by expanding her popular blog to now include content exclusively for mothers, and has been able to build a beautiful and expansive community of women supporting one another during the ever changing stages of life.
As a Southwest Florida native, her community is incredibly important to her and she prides herself on being of service to her community. Jennifer offers no cost yoga and stretch classes, hosts free nutrition seminars, offers scholarships to work with her, mentors young female entrepreneurs, and is continually helping those in need.

Food is Healing
By Jarod Ward, Caliber Wellness
From our clinical experience working with thousands of patients, there is nothing more true than food being a foundational aspect of health. What one chooses to eat will either fuel wellness or disease. As holistic chiropractors, many of our patients have the health challenges associated with the standard American diet (SAD). These include diabetes, heart disease, metabolic syndrome, systemic inflammation, and more.
One could argue that at the very foundation of the chronic disease epidemic is a singular problem: metabolic health disruption. Metabolic health is the body’s ability to burn sugar and fat as fuel. If one’s body is not able to burn both effectively, the entire body will suffer and blood sugar will be unstable. There are some well-known conditions related to blood sugar regulation. For example, Osteoarthritis, a common arthritis, is sometimes referred to as “diabetes of the joint;” sarcopenia, or muscle wasting, as “diabetes of the muscle;” and Alzheimer’s is nicknamed “type 3 diabetes” or “diabetes of the brain.”
The University of North Carolina published in 2018 that 88% of US adults were no longer considered metabolically healthy. This means that the vast majority of our population is on the fast track to the lifestyle diseases above associated with the SAD diet.
In our clinic, we emphasize whole foods, precise supplementation, and a wellness plan in order to help our patients completely recover from their chronic conditions. We run comprehensive testing on our patients with chronic health problems and achieve excellent results that often completely reverse these conditions in under a year. And this would not be achievable without recognizing that food is the foundation of a long and healthy life.
